The No. 1 waterpark in the world for the last 19 years, Schlitterbahn a favorite place to spend some family time in New Braunfels. But since your kids have probably been counting down the days until they could grab those bathing suits and snorkels again, you’ll be happy the park is opening its Blastenhoff section for Spring Break. Home to the Master Blaster and The Torrent, this part of the park will provide endless hours of fun. If you’re looking for a staycation, you can also book a room, cabin, treehause, or loft on site with Schlitterbahn's specials and packages.
The Comal and the Guadalupe rivers are two of the most popular spots for tubing in Texas, and Spring Breakers will be out in force with a week off from school. The calmer Comal is a favorite place for families, especially since it maintains a constant 72-degree temperature.
Wake boarding, paintballing, trampolining, skateboarding, and snowboarding are just some of the activities offered at Texas Ski Ranch. If you’re looking to get some of your kids’ energy out, they can definitely do it here!
A real-live safari just minutes from home? With 500 exotic, native, and endangered animals that you can feed from your car and 450 beautiful acres of Hill Country terrain, it’s no wonder this is a favorite family-friendly hotspot in New Braunfels.
In the same complex as the Wildlife Ranch, the caverns give you a whole different experience, with miles of natural formations, as well as a Canopy Challenge with Zip Line, and other great family-oriented Hill Country activities.
There are a bunch of New Braunfels Museums where the kids can have fun without even realizing they’re learning. Don’t miss the McKenna Children’s Museum, with tons of exhibits and hands-on activities that will keep them engaged for hours.
There are a number of great Spring Break activities for the family in nearby San Antonio, including the San Antonio Aquarium, which offers numerous interactive activities, animal feedings, and shows. Check the schedule to make sure you don’t miss out on all the fun. The DoSeum is a newer children's museum with indoor and outdoor STEM-based exhibit and play space. Don’t miss the interactive robot, spy academy, interactive puppet parade, musical staircase, and ADA-accessible treehouse. If you’re looking for Spring Break camps in Texas, the DoSeum has several from ages 3 to 10 that focus on subjects including music, detective work, and art.
In addition to the traditional animals and shows available all year long, Sea World offers Wild Days during Spring Break, with “an action packed month of events, shows and thrills designed to keep the whole family coming back for more.” Come weekends during the month of March or during the week of March 11–19 for celebrity wildlife experts like ‘Jungle’ Jack Hanna and special, limited-time shows.
