Fall is here, and that that means a number of exciting and well-attended events are on the horizon over the next several months. One of the most popular Texas Hill Country events takes place over four days, from October 5–8. The 31st annual Gruene Music and Wine Festival will build on the fun and festivities that have made this event a hit for more than three decades.
Tickets are now on sale for all four days, including:
Thursday, Oct. 5: Kickoff Event
Thursday’s Kickoff Event, held from 5:30–7:30pm at The Grapevine Garden, will feature wine tasting from five favorite Texas wineries and live music from popular Americana/Country/Rock artists Walt Wilkins & The Mystiqueros.
At 8pm, don’t miss The Georges at Gruene Hall.
Friday, Oct. 6: Rockin’ with Texas Wine and Food
This aptly named celebration features an evening filled with Texas tunes and tastes from 5:30–8:30pm at Gruene Hall. Activities include:
- - A private show and meet & greet with Ray Benson
- - A catered dinner from The Gristmill River Restaurant & Bar
- - Wine tasting with three of Texas' most famed vineyards:
- Fall Creek Vineyards, Kiepersol Winery, and Los Pinos Ranch Vineyards
- - A silent auction featuring autographed guitars by: George Strait, Loretta Lynn, Lyle Lovett & John Hiatt, Kevin Costner, Patty Griffin, Jerry Jeff Walker, Mel Tillis, LeAnn Rimes, Kiefer Sutherland, Tanya Tucker, Radney Foster, William Clark Green, the artists from the 2012 Americana Music Jam, and Ray Benson of Asleep at the Wheel, as well as a harmonica signed by Delbert McClinton
- - A concert after 9pm at Gruene Hall with Asleep at the Wheel
Saturday, Oct. 7: Texas Tasting and Tunes
Texas Tasting and Tunes is an all-day affair, from noon to 6pm on the grounds of The Grapevine, with live music on two stages: on the Grapevine Stage, Beat Root Revival, Charlie & The Regrets, and The Peterson Brothers, and on the Gruene Hall Stage, The Georges.
More than 90 Texas wines will be providing tastes and there will also be lots of food tasting in the "Le Cordon Gruene" Food Alley, as well as a craft and gift market.
At 9pm, Jack Ingram will be in concert at Gruene Hall!
Sunday, Oct. 8: Texas Craft Beer & Music Fest
Don’t miss this all-day celebration of live Texas music, from 1–10pm at Gruene Hall. Featured artists include:
- - Cory Morrow
- - Roger Creager (acoustic)
- - Bruce Robison
- - Uncle Lucius
- - Two Tons of Steel
- - Charley Crockett
- - Jamie Lin Wilson
This event will also feature craft beer tasting with more than 40 varieties focused on South Texas and the Hill Country from 1–6pm on the grounds of The Grapevine accompanied by more live music from The Powell Brothers, Zac Wilkerson Band, and Seth James Band, plus food in the "Le Cordon Gruene" Food Alley and a craft and gift market.
And don’t miss the famous Gospel Brunch with a Texas Twist at 10:30am at Gruene Hall, featuring a buffet from The Gristmill.
