Living in New Braunfels is about to get even better, especially for those who on the Northeast side. The new HEB Plus coming to New Braunfels and being built at I35 and FM 306 is on schedule to open in the next three months, bringing a whole new level of convenience to residents with the first store of its kind in the city. “HEB is targeting late June or early July for the opening of that store,” said HEB spokeswoman Julie Bedingfield in the New Braunfels Herald-Zeitung, “adding that it will feature a fuel station, car wash and will bring with it a new retail shopping center.”

HEB’s $14 million investment includes the 120,000-square-foot store and 29,000 square feet of retail. More than 100 new jobs are expected to be added once the store opens, further feeding New Braunfels’ employment growth.

“This (new HEB) has been a longtime desire of the residents of the north side of the city,” Michael Meek, president of the Greater New Braunfels Chamber of Commerce,” told the Herald-Zeitung shortly after the announcement that the store was coming. “It’ll also provide some breathing room for the other two stores. All residents who shop at HEB will benefit from this.”
