New Braunfels is one of the fastest-growing cities in the nation and that doesn’t look to change anytime soon. New projections show impressive population growth in Comal County for years to come as homebuyers continue to discover the many advantages of living in New Braunfels.
“Comal County’s population growth is projected to more than double at 115 percent during the next 30 years, and the employment expansion forecast is expected to be even greater than that at 127 percent over the same timeframe,” said the New Braunfels Herald-Zeitung. “According to the U.S. Census Bureau, Comal, Guadalupe and Kendall are three of the fastest growing counties in the United States.”
A chart from the Alamo Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (AAMPO) showed that “Comal County’s population in 2015 was 134,019. In 2045, it’s expected to swell to 287,655, or an increase of 153,636. That computes to the 115 percent growth,” said the Herald-Zeitung.
Employment numbers in New Braunfels have already risen far beyond their 2015 numbers of 52,683, and estimates for the year 2045 show an increase of 127 percent to 119,352. The growing employment opportunities right in the city, not to mention the abundant jobs in the bustling nearby metros of Austin and San Antonio, are a huge draw for buyers looking a family-friendly city in which to purchase a new home with a minimal commute.
But that’s just the start of what draws Texas new home buyers to the city. The New Braunfels National Citizen Survey™ (The NCS) measured New Braunfels’ overall livability earlier this year, finding that residents “enjoy a high quality of life in New Braunfels,” they said. “Compared to other communities, more residents gave positive ratings to New Braunfels’ overall image, the city as a place to raise children and as a place to retire. About 9 in 10 respondents would recommend living in New Braunfels.
Other aspects of the survey focused on the strong economy and consistent growth; “community connectedness;” safety and natural environment; and “the overall quality of the services provided by New Braunfels as well as the manner in which these services are provided. That element focused on residents’ opinions of local government and services, which were found to be almost double their opinions of the federal government.
