Two of the nation’ fastest-growing cities are also two of the best places in the country to get a job, according to business.com, and they jut happen to sandwich New Braunfels. Austin is No. 4 on the list and San Antonio is No. 7.
“There is more to Austin than good music, great food, and competitive football. It is also home to one of the top job markets in the country, said business.com. “Even with a population of close to one million, the unemployment rate in Austin is only three percent. Thanks to employers like the University of Texas at Austin and Whole Foods Market, the city continues to attract top talent.”
About San Antonio, approximately an hour to the south of Austin, business.com said, “There are not many cities on this list more impressive than San Antonio. The primary reason is its population of more than 1.4 million. With this many people, it is hard to imagine an unemployment rate of 3.4 percent. But that is exactly what the city offers.”
They also noted San Antonio’s thriving “healthcare, business and IT services, biotechnology, military, and financial services industries,” including a “shout-out to three firms in particular, Rackspace Hosting Inc. (NYSE: RAX), Toyota Motor Manufacturing Texas and USAA,” said the San Antonio Business Journal.
The area between these two dynamic cities also continues to grow rapidly. San Marcos is the fastest-growing city in the nation and neighboring New Braunfels is No. 13. These two cities are at the geographic center of the I35 Corridor, considered one of the most dynamic areas in the country primed for continued growth; New Braunfels is projected to grow another 36 percent in the next 15 years. HEB recently announced it was bringing the first HEB Plus to New Braunfels’ northeast side, while Amazon is building a new $14 million, 855,000-square-foot facility in San Marcos.
Real estate developers are recognizing the need for quality new homes in the area to serve the increasing population. The brand-new community of The Crossings is a collaboration between SouthStar Communities, developer of Havenwood and Vintage Oaks in New Braunfels, and Lennar Homes, one of the nation’s more awarded and most popular builders. Lennar is introducing two single-family neighborhoods in this brand-new community, Brookside II and Camden Collection, giving families a range of spacious, modern floorplans, desirable features including granite countertops, Energy Star® stainless steel appliances, and landscape packages, built in and included at no extra charge thanks to Lennar’s popular Everything’s Included (EI) program, and Hill Country scenery. Quick Move Homes are also offered at The Crossings, for those looking to move in without the wait of construction.
The Crossings also offers community amenities including a swimming pool, grassy play areas, and walking trails, giving residents an opportunity to stay active and social, and connect with each other.
